Go Kart Insanity

The Struckers took their collective competitiveness to the racetrack for some go kart insanity that won’t soon be forgotten. Then again, that might be because of the grease and oil stains on our clothes.

PDX, you look so good.

The Oregonian gave props to Struck’s Portland studs today in this article that highlights the “bevy of creative talent” that graces Portland’s ad agencies, and how expansion to P-town is paying off for several shops. Struck’s Portland office opened its doors in October, and has since come full circle playing a crucial role in executing our latest sites for Old Spice, GM , and MINI, among others.

Apparently, the article has prompted some Portland residents to call the studio and thank them just for being around… We would like to take this opportunity to one-up those Oregonians, not with a gratuitous phone call, but rather a love letter:

PDX,
We love you. You complete us.
XOXO,
SLC

(and we mean it…)

Our monthly company meeting may be a little hard to hear (Portland uses iChat to connect to Salt Lake) but no one can deny that it is entertaining.

Terror on the high seas

So my bud, known only by the moniker “Baltz”, sent me this photo and simply asked “Blog it yo!” Well my technologically awkward friend, your loss is my gain. Since I have no idea what this photo is – in any regard – I’ll just make it up.

I’m not sure how, but Baltz woke up in the Caribbean, because he sure as hell wasn’t at work last week. I think he had a vacation coming, but who knows. Anyhow, I heard from a police report that he stole this kid from a local swap meet and decided to go fishing. They apparently caught these fish, which was great because there was no way he would buy this kid any food. I heard from a friend that the look on this kid’s face was because about ten seconds before this photo was taken, the barracuda bit him pretty hard.

Baltz: “I already set the timer”

Kid: “but Mr., I’m bleeding”

Baltz: “… you had better not ruin my shot”

Kid: “Sorry Mr.”

Do We Always Look This Tough?

I don’t know if it’s the helmets, the dirt on our faces, or the pile of bikes littered about as if we tossed them with so much reckless abandon—but this crew of Struckers (and our gracious Deer Valley hosts) looks like the roughest crew in town.

Struckers at Deer Valley

Truth told, we rarely strayed from the intermediate trails and the biggest challenge of the day was finishing off the ridiculously scrumptious desserts at the Royal Street Café (you’ve gotta try the Ice Cream Sandwich… you’ve just gotta). Anyway… massive thanks and much love to our comrades at DVR for hooking up the most radical morning of the summer.

Get Your Ride On

If you’re curious how the Struckers are dealing with high gas prices—let’s just say the aisle space seems to get more and more cramped. Here’s a shot of just few of the rides that the Struckers pedal on into the studio on a regular basis.

And yes, we do have our share of fixies.

If you notice you have 3? We’ve got 600K !!!

So on Tuesdays Youtube has this little ditty known as “Trend Spotting Tuesdays”. Lo and behold, our little ditty for the Sean Kimmerling Testicular Cancer Foundation was the top feature. The video received over 600,000 hits in it’s first 24-hour period. Among other notables to be noted, it was the #1 Featured Video and the #1 Educational Video yesterday. Thanks Youtube and thanks SKTCF.
