Google can now search Flash

Google has announced that it has improved its algorithm to extract textual data out of any kind of Flash file, working with Adobe’s Flash Player. This is huge news for a shop like Struck, wehere we specialize in user experiences that often showcase Flash. I am dying to know how well it works and what the limitations are!

Papa Bangerter before he was Papa

Here’s a classic blast from the past for all you old school Struckers that may remember the name ‘Studiobrand.’ Yes, that’s right. We drug up one of Jason’s business cards from his freelance days as a student. As you can see, his pontificating pose is utterly priceless. The other image is from the archive of the same shoot for his card. This one was rightly titled, “JasonMuscles.”

Most people can only dream of locks like this

From Olaf to Brolaf to Frolaf. The transformation is now complete. It’s been sixteen weeks and counting since Peder’s been building up to this very moment, and we’re extremely proud of his commitment to keepin’ it real.

Triple the carnage!

After months of impatiently waiting for the release of Halo 3, the team was just about salivating to make some kills on release day. No doubt the thrill will take months to die down (maybe we should start marking kills on peoples desks… just a thought).

A Big Punctuation Mark on Mustache May

Kyle's true superior alter-ego

In a striking, premeditated move, Struck Studio Manager/EP Kyle Snarr saved up all his hair for a creepy cut for the last day of May. It was bold, it was disturbing, it was all too real.

Flash Workshop

We have talked to enough people that would love a Flash workshop here in Salt Lake that it would be pretty stupid of us not to put one together. So, now, the question is what kind of material would you like us to cover? If you would be interested in attending a workshop on Flash at our headquarters, leave a comment on this post. Let us know what level of Flash experience you have so we can gauge what would be the most useful for the community here. Let’s Flash it up!
