So, this is a follow up to the previous post about the incredible mini-series currently running on the Discovery Channel that our interactive gurus helped promote with some fun banners. I just happened to be flipping through the channels the other night when something up in the top right corner catches my eye. It was a live digital countdown clock on the Discovery Channel. There was T-minus three minutes to go. Having had a sneak peek at some of the amazing NASA footage, I stayed tune. And I was glad I did. Suddenly I was 9 again, hoping to grow up to be one of these guys:

If you have a spare hour, or even if you don’t, I recommend you check out When We Left Earth.
It’s entertaining, and it’ll make you proud to be an American. At least until you hit your ‘previous channel’ button, and this comes on.

So, with all the new Struckers coming on board, space is at a premium. What to do? Rent a bigger space? Bring a construction office trailer and park it out back like an overcrowded elementary school? NO! We share the space we have. That’s what Struckers do. We’re like family. And like any family living in close proximity, sometimes you’ve got to take precautionary measures to keep the peace.

I didn’t get to witness the accident, just the cleanup. BrandonK was too embarrassed to chronicle it, so I’ll do it for him.
Apparently, while reading some e-mails early this A.M., he had forgotten that there was no longer a lid on his Starbuck’s beverage. He picked up the bottle and proceeded to vigorously shake it. Judging from the pile of wet tan colored paper towels in the trash and the awkward stains on his jeans, I imagine the initial damage looked something like this.

The annual Struck Holiday party was held at Deer Valley’s Silver Lake Lodge last Saturday night. The food was delicious, the company was awesome, and the raffle was a big hit. The Upper-Struckers were super generous with the prizes. One Strucker in particular was thrilled at his good fortune. Yours truly. When my name was called, my reaction was a little bit like this one: http://youtube.com/watch?v=pFlcqWQVVuU
Yes, I stayed up til 1 a.m. that very night enjoying the view from my couch.

Can’t wait to see what the big prize is next year. Thanks Struck!

ter.pi.tude / n: inherent baseness : depravity
See if you can work it into casual conversation this week.
For example:
Dude, did you see the game last night? The terpitude of those refs was unconscionable.

At Struck, we like words almost as much as a great design or inter-web interface. Sometimes we even inventify new words. To help the blog-visiting community appreciate the words of the English language as much as we do, we’ll post a Word of the Week. Maybe not every week. But more than 50% of the weeks. Without further delay, enjoy this word:
globular /glob.u.lar - having the shape of a globe or globule
