With a bit of a luck luster winter thus far for us Utahans, images of the pow-days of yesteryear are running through my head. Because I can’t really give you my head I decided to spend some putting together a few ski days from last year.
Some of us took a little road trip up to Echo lake after work to do a little cliff jumping. In somewhat stupid form we decided to jump off the biggest thing first. That’s all fine and dandy when you have even the smallest bit of air sense. That’s not so awesome when you fall from the air like a bag of rocks.
We are creating a stop motion piece for an upcoming banner project. The piece requires a cellphone to disassemble itself revealing it’s inner workings. To create accurate storyboards we wanted to take apart some phones to reference the insides. We could have bought a screwdriver to do the job, but Adam L was angry that day and thus the carnage began.
It’s hard to comprehend that almost 8 feet of snow has fallen in the last seven days out here. At times it’s hard to focus on your day job while its dumping freshies outside. When the weekend comes it’s time to saddle up and ride!
Here at Struck we’ve developed a sophisticated piece of software that allows us to turn employees into digital characters. Brandon & Corey (pictured below) were our first test subjects.
Having moved here from Pittsburgh, the only thing October meant to me was candy corn, crazy Steeler fans
and beer in plastic jugs at Oktoberfest. Here in Utah it means early season lines and more snow than I knew what to do with.
Motionboy and I went up to Alta to get some preseason shreddage.
Hiking…
More hiking…
Almost there…
After 3 hours we finally made it to our line. I’m not going to say how many times I thought about giving up on life along the way……..(somewhere between 3 and 5)
motionboy ’shredding the gnar’.
Yours truly avoiding a bush.
While we tried to take as many pics as possible we didn’t get any shots of the top where the snow was even deeper. However we did get an artist’s rendering of those events.
It was a most awesome start of the year and opening days are right around the corner! Get those skis or that snowboard waxed and we’ll see ya on the hill mountain.
