Terror on the high seas

So my bud, known only by the moniker “Baltz”, sent me this photo and simply asked “Blog it yo!” Well my technologically awkward friend, your loss is my gain. Since I have no idea what this photo is – in any regard – I’ll just make it up.

I’m not sure how, but Baltz woke up in the Caribbean, because he sure as hell wasn’t at work last week. I think he had a vacation coming, but who knows. Anyhow, I heard from a police report that he stole this kid from a local swap meet and decided to go fishing. They apparently caught these fish, which was great because there was no way he would buy this kid any food. I heard from a friend that the look on this kid’s face was because about ten seconds before this photo was taken, the barracuda bit him pretty hard.

Baltz: “I already set the timer”

Kid: “but Mr., I’m bleeding”

Baltz: “… you had better not ruin my shot”

Kid: “Sorry Mr.”

If you notice you have 3? We’ve got 600K !!!

So on Tuesdays Youtube has this little ditty known as “Trend Spotting Tuesdays”. Lo and behold, our little ditty for the Sean Kimmerling Testicular Cancer Foundation was the top feature. The video received over 600,000 hits in it’s first 24-hour period. Among other notables to be noted, it was the #1 Featured Video and the #1 Educational Video yesterday. Thanks Youtube and thanks SKTCF.

We work for these guys?

So Friday marked the end of Mustache May and in true Strucker style, full time Co-presidents and part time rock stars Jason Bangerter and Ryan Goodwin donned the ensembles you see below. Its level of creepiness was only outweighed by its hilarity. Well played my good men, well played.

Struck continues to strike

Strike it rich with award bounty to be exact. Friday marked the annual AIGA 100 Show here in Salt Lake City. The 100 Show features the top 100 design pieces from the previous year and Struck was well represented. Of the 100 pieces, 9 came from within these walls. And one of those 9 pieces, the Fat Flake Festival Poster for Ski Utah took home a coveted Copper Ingot – a top honor issued to a maximum of 10 of the most deserving.

The list of recognized clients is long, but they deserve to be mentioned. Congrats to The Wall Street Journal, KUER, Specialized, Freemotion Fitness, Boticelli, Actium, Jot-it, Lush and Ski Utah for allowing us to do such great work for your brands.

It’s a bird, It’s a plane…

Well actually, it’s a bunch of Struckers. Yesterday, MAY-GOSH-DARN-FOURTH, was a day of Spring skiing that left Struckers Jon Minori and Brandon Knowlden wanting nothing more than a few extra vacation days. The air was warm and the skiing was good, but on our way to the car, lo-and-behold, a kicker. It was so pretty, just glistening in the sun and begging to be owned. Jon flipped forwards and I flipped backwards and to round it all out, Jon’s brother Josh, was hookin’ up some sweet flat spins.

Let it be known: this is how Struck rolls.

Carpe Testes :: Seize yourself

So the folks at Struck and the folks at Sean Kimerling have been working pretty hard for a pretty long time on some great work for testicular cancer awareness. The five spots can be found on the series of tubes at Carpe Testes. We love the work, the client loves the work and we have also certified that the production company, Cosmic Pictures, certifiably rocks.

Kenji like a rock star.

What’s the secret to creativity? Kenji’s got it down. He’s practicing the fine art of alpha meditation. Using extreme brain wave discipline, he delicately blurs the line of consciousness, hence, harnessing the powers of his inner being, the surrounding environmental energy, and a touch of supernatural magic.

Either that, or he’s recovering from a crazy-wild night at the Copacabana.

The ideal brainwave frequency for alpha meditation is about 9-10hz.

Kenji is in such exquisite form, nothing seems to rattle his concentration.

The tricky thing is that it may look like you’re sleeping. That is most definitely NOT the case here.

The 1st annual Struck or Treat a healthy success

So yesterday Struckers brought in their youngens for some tricks and treats. Surprisingly enough one might think that candy was the popular choice. Well, if you did, then you’d be wrong. Check out the spread provided by yours truly and then check out all the smiling faces.

Give a man a fish, he’ll eat for a day. Teach Brandon to blog, you’ll end up with stuff like this.
